Skills & Qualifications

How do I keep a usable register of who can do what — and put it to work in hiring and assignment?

Skills live in an administered taxonomy — categories, skills within them, and levels per category — and are assigned to employees on their file alongside education and language records. The same taxonomy drives vacancy requirements and skill-matched work assignment.

How it works

The taxonomy is maintained in-product: skill categories, the skills inside each category, and level scales per category are all administered lists, not free text. Employee skills reference the taxonomy, so searches and matches compare like with like.

Qualifications extend beyond skills: education records and language assessments are maintained structures on the employee file, and language options are administered the same way skills are. Together they form the register recruitment screens against — vacancies name required skill sets, education, and languages from these very lists.

The register works downstream too: continON’s work-order engine matches candidate assignees to tasks by required skill, which is the practical payoff of keeping the taxonomy current. This page is the honest scope of what some suites market as talent management — continON does not claim career-path or succession planning today.
