Performance Appraisal

How do managers evaluate their teams on a defined cycle with comparable questionnaires?

Appraisals run in evaluation periods defined per organizational unit, using questionnaires whose dimensions you configure. The evaluator is the manager, working down the real reporting chain, and grades are stored numerically per dimension.

What the record holds at once

Held constantPerformance Appraisal 5 states, at the same time

  • Periods per unit

Each unit gets its own evaluation periods, with overlap checks at creation.

  • Configurable questionnaires

Dimensions and categories are built in-product and reused across cycles.

  • Manager-as-evaluator

Subordinates resolve from the reporting chain, and evaluator legitimacy is validated.

  • Numeric grades per dimension

Results are stored dimension by dimension, comparable across a period.

  • Independent evaluations

Out-of-cycle evaluations can be created for specific cases without a period.

How it works

The cycle is explicit: evaluation periods are created per unit with validation against overlapping periods, so each part of the organization runs its own calendar. Questionnaires are built from configurable dimensions grouped in categories, with name-uniqueness checks, and can be reused across periods.

Evaluation follows the org model — the system resolves a manager’s subordinates from the reporting chain and validates that the evaluator is a legitimate manager for the employee. Grades are recorded numerically per dimension, and independent evaluations outside the standard period can be run when needed.

This engine is deliberately separate from recruitment’s interview scoring: candidates and employees are assessed by different instruments. continON does not claim 360-degree reviews, OKR management, or automatic links from appraisal results to pay.
