Sales Management

Sales Management runs the commercial side of goods and services on the shared partner and item masters: a sale names its buyer, warehouse, currency and exchange rate, maturity terms, payment way, and price tier, then builds lot-aware lines against warehouse stock. Around the core sale sit wholesale pricing tiers and discount campaigns, contracted sales that draw down agreed quantities, recurring billing for periodically billed services, and a documented returns flow.

The operating model

A sale in continON is built from records the rest of the platform already maintains: the buyer comes from the partner master, the goods from the item master, the stock from the warehouse ledger, and the posting accounts from the chart of accounts. The sale itself fixes the commercial terms — currency with its exchange rate, maturity days and date, payment way, price tier, salesperson, and department — and its detail lines are lot-aware, drawing specific lots from the chosen warehouse.

Pricing is defined once on the item: the sale calculation carries minimum and maximum profit, two wholesale price tiers, and a point-of-sale-aware price tier, with partner-specific discounts on top. Time-boxed discount campaigns are scoped by article classification, warehouse, and price tier, and the discount that applies to a line is resolved by article, tier, warehouse, and date at entry time.

Sales registers are grouped under named settings templates assigned to organization positions — each template binding defaults such as currency, warehouse, price types, and the mapping of VAT categories to posting accounts. From there the record keeps working: payments are recorded per sale with credit tracked, contracted sales draw down contract quantities, periodically billed services invoice on their cycle, and returns adjust lines with supporting documents attached.

The customer relationship

A recorded commercial cycle

  1. Price defined on the item

Sale calculation sets profit bounds, two wholesale tiers, and a POS-aware price tier; discount campaigns add time-boxed reductions.

  2. Sale raised

Buyer, warehouse, currency and exchange rate, maturity, payment way, and price tier are fixed on the sale record.

  3. Stock drawn

Lot-aware detail lines draw on or reserve stock in the chosen warehouse, with the ledger linking each movement to the sale.

  4. Consignment shipped

The sale becomes the source of a distribution consignment, prepared and shipped in two tracked phases.

  5. Money recorded

Payments are recorded per sale with credit tracked; sale settings map VAT categories to posting accounts.

  6. Follow-on cycles

Returns adjust lines and credit with documents attached; periodically billed services invoice on their period.
