Distribution
Distribution turns a sale or an approved internal request into a consignment: a distribution record with a source warehouse, a gate, cargo dates, size and weight, and a purpose. Preparation and shipping run as two tracked phases, with tasks generated for the warehouse staff who prepare and the drivers who ship, and transport assigned to an own vehicle or a carrier partner.

The operating model
A distribution in continON is a first-class record, not a status on an order. It names the warehouse the goods leave from, the gate they leave through, the preparation due date and the cargo picking date, the cargo’s size and weight, and the purpose of the movement. Register templates for distribution are configured as named settings and assigned to organization positions, so each team works its own consignment register.
Demand comes from two directions through the same screen: sale-based consignments pull the lines of one or more sales, and request-based consignments fulfill approved internal requests — supply between units and locations without inventing a customer. Line details are resolved per warehouse, and rejected requests are recorded with their reference rather than silently dropped.
Execution is split into preparation and shipping, each with its own status. Creating the consignment can generate tasks for both phases — preparation tasks for warehouse staff selected from the people registered in that warehouse, and shipping tasks for drivers, due on the cargo picking date. Transport is explicit: the company’s own vehicle from the asset register, or a shipping partner from the partner master, with an address label card printable for the consignment.

Demand arrives
A sale or an approved internal request is selected as the source of the consignment.
Consignment planned
Warehouse, gate, purpose, preparation due date, cargo picking date, and cargo size and weight are fixed on the distribution record.
Preparation delegated
Preparation tasks are generated for warehouse staff, due on the preparation date; availability checks flag who is already tasked.
Transport assigned
An own vehicle from the asset register or a carrier from the partner master takes the cargo, with shipping persons assigned.
Prepared and shipped
Preparation and shipping statuses advance independently until the consignment completes; the address label card prints per consignment.
Ledger closes the movement
The stock ledger links the outgoing quantities to their sale and distribution records.

Connected through one operating model
Distribution does not stand alone.
Records cross module boundaries without being re-entered — these are the relationships continON actually maintains.
- Warehouse Management
Warehouses, gates, and the staff registered in each warehouse frame every consignment. - Sales Management
Sale-based consignments pull their lines from sales records, including reserved-stock sales. - Orders & Offers
Demand that started as an offer or order arrives at distribution as the sale or request it became. - Task Management
Consignments can supply a specific task or project and generate work for its people. - Asset Management
Own-transport vehicles are transportation assets in the shared asset register.
