Asset Management
continON Asset Management keeps a register of company assets with a barcode identity traceable to the goods receipt that acquired them, records custody through an assign-use-return handover history, and tracks where each asset sits. Asset requests can be raised on behalf of an employee, an organizational unit, or a project.
The recordThe asset
The operating model
Assets enter the register the way they enter the company: through purchasing. An asset’s identity is traceable to the goods receipt that acquired it, so the register is anchored in real acquisition records rather than typed-in serials of unknown origin. Classification rides the shared item hierarchy, and each asset carries a generated barcode identity.
Custody is a history, not a field. Every asset keeps an assign-use-return handover record, so who holds it now and who held it before are both answerable, and location records track where assets sit between hands. Requests for assets are raised on behalf of an employee, an organizational unit, or a project, which keeps the reason an asset was issued attached to the issuing.
The module is deliberately scoped to what the product verifiably does: register, identification, custody, location, and return. Depreciation methods and schedules are recorded on the register and values are calculated from them, but they are not automatically journalized into accounting — and maintenance scheduling and a formal disposal flow are not part of the current product.

Returned, or carried to its next holder
Acquire
The asset arrives through a purchase order and line-level goods acceptance.
Register & tag
The asset is registered with a barcode identity traceable to its goods receipt and classified in the shared item hierarchy.
Request & assign
An asset request on behalf of an employee, unit, or project leads to a recorded handover.
Track
Location and custody history stay current while the asset is in use.
Return
The return closes the handover record, and the asset is available to assign again.
Connected through one operating model
Assets does not stand alone.
Records cross module boundaries without being re-entered — these are the relationships continON actually maintains.
- Purchasing & Supply
Assets enter the register through purchasing and line-level receipt. - Warehouse Management
Transport assets are referenced by warehouse transfers and dispatch operations. - Human Capital Management
Assets are assigned to employees held in the workforce records. - Project Management
Asset requests can name a project as the beneficiary.
