Tasks & Assignments
How is work assigned and tracked as task records?
A task record names who assigned it and who owns it, with start and due dates, a priority, a category, and required time. Tasks nest into subtasks, can be matched to people by skill instead of by name, and carry their own material resource lines.

How it works
Each task is a referenced record with a name and description, assigned-by and assigned-to employees, start and due dates plus the actual completion date, a priority from critical to low, a category, and a required-time estimate with a time-period unit. A task belongs to a project, stands alone, is linked to a partner or client, or is generated from a service request — the origin stays on the record.
Assignment has two paths. Name an employee directly, or set skill requirements — categories, skills, and levels — and resolve them to matching employees; pools can also be filtered through the manager hierarchy or by partner. Several people can share one task through human-resource lines with percentage splits, and partner contacts can be assignees with an internal monitoring employee attached.
Tasks also carry their own material resources — equipment, consumables, services, and miscellaneous articles, each line naming its warehouse and quantity — and documents attach directly. The task list is a filterable register: status, priority, assignee, partner, project, date ranges with operators, and free text.
What the register holds
5 on the record- Subtask hierarchy
- Tasks nest under a parent, children list on the record, and a parent with children is protected from casual deletion.
- Skill-based assignment
- Skill categories, skills, and levels on the task resolve to the employees who match, instead of forcing a named pick.
- Shared and partner assignments
- Human-resource lines split a task across people by percentage, and partner contacts can hold tasks with an internal monitor.
- Resource lines on the task
- Equipment, consumable, service, and miscellaneous lines reference articles and warehouses with quantity limits per line.
- Filterable task register
- The list filters by status, priority, assignee, partner, project, date ranges, and text, so review does not need exports.
What this touches
- Project Management
Project tasks are the same records planned as Gantt rows, and progress rolls up to the project. - Human Capital Management
Assignees, skills, and the manager hierarchy come from employee and position records. - Asset Management
Equipment lines on a task reference asset articles from the shared register. - Warehouse Management
Consumable and material lines name the warehouse they draw from. - My continON
Assignees see and work their own tasks from the self-service hub’s tasks tab.
