Resource Allocation
How are people, equipment, and partners assigned to project work?
Project resources come from live records, not a typed list of names. Employees are filtered by unit, position, and skill level and checked for availability; equipment, consumables, and services are drawn from article and warehouse records; partner companies join with named contacts.
What is checked before it commits
6 checksSkill-matched people
Skill requirements by category, skill, and level resolve to matching employees, scoped to the project where one is set.
Availability check
An employee’s availability is evaluated for the task’s start-to-end window before assignment, flagging clashes with existing work.
Unit and position filtering
Assignment pools narrow by organization unit and position, so candidates reflect the structure rather than a global list.
Equipment from warehouse records
Equipment, consumable, service, and miscellaneous lines reference articles and the warehouse they draw from, with quantity limits per line.
Dedicated-equipment conflict check
Marking equipment as project-dedicated triggers a date-overlap check so the same machine is not promised to two projects at once.
Partners with internal monitoring
Partner companies and their contact persons join the resource list, and partner work can name an internal monitoring employee.
How it works
People are matched, not guessed. The assignment screens filter the employee pool by organization unit and position, or resolve skill requirements — categories, skills, and skill levels — to the employees who hold them. Before an assignment is confirmed, an availability check runs for that employee across the task’s date window.
Material resources are records too. Equipment, consumables, services, and miscellaneous articles attach to the project and its tasks from article masters, each line naming the warehouse it draws from, with optional quantity limits. Equipment can be dedicated to a project for its duration, and the screen checks for dedication conflicts with other projects across overlapping dates.
External partners participate as project resources as well: partner companies join the project team with contact persons, and partner-assigned work can carry an internal monitoring employee so an inside owner stays attached to outside work.
What this touches
- Human Capital Management
Employees, positions, and skills are the records the people-matching filters run on. - Asset Management
Equipment lines reference the same asset articles tracked in the asset register. - Warehouse Management
Consumable and material lines name the warehouse they draw from. - Organization model
Unit and position filters walk the shared organization hierarchy.
