Resource Allocation

How are people, equipment, and facilities assigned to each production phase?

Each production phase carries its own resources: the employees working it, the assets and equipment used, and a start and end window. Equipment options come from the assets registered on the chosen facility, so a phase can only book machines that exist there.

How it works

Resource assignment happens per phase against the plan. The people list draws on the employee register, the equipment list is read from the facility’s registered assets, and each assignment carries schedule dates inside the plan window. Saving schedules, employees, assets, and equipment are separate deliberate steps, so a half-staffed phase is visible as exactly that.

Planned and actual resourcing are kept apart: resource-and-schedule tables render either the planned setup or the state of a live run, so what was intended and what actually happened can be compared per phase. Waste fields on phase resources — including an other-waste figure that requires justification — carry through to the run records.

What is checked before it commits

4 checks
  • Facility-scoped equipment

The equipment offered to a phase is read from the assets registered on the selected facility, not a free-text list.

  • Employees per phase

Phase crews are selected from the employee register, with assignments and schedule windows saved per phase.

  • Planned versus actual views

Resource-and-schedule tables render planned setups and live runs separately, so deviations are readable per phase.

  • Justified extra waste

Waste beyond the planned figure is recorded with a required justification on the phase resource record.
