Contract Lots & Priced Items
How does the system keep orders and sales inside what the contract actually agreed?
Lots split a contract into named parts, each with its own execution period, contracted quantity, and a lot price that may not exceed the contract value. Contract articles price the items themselves — and their remaining quantity counts down as orders and sales draw against the agreement.
What the record holds at once
Held constantContract Lots & Priced Items 5 states, at the same time
Value caps enforced
Lot prices must fit inside the contract value, and item totals must fit inside their lot price — checked at save.
Price justifications
Each lot records the justification for its pricing from organization reference data.
Locked item prices
Contract articles fix price per unit, and contracted transactions draw at that price rather than the list price.
Remaining-quantity drawdown
Every contracted order and sale counts down the article’s remaining quantity on the agreement.
Flexible-price lots
Lots can be flagged flexible-price where the agreement allows negotiated rates within the cap.
How it works
A lot carries its name, an execution period of its own or the contract’s, a contracted quantity, a flexible-price flag, and a lot price. The arithmetic is enforced, not advisory: the sum of lot prices cannot exceed the contract value, and a contract value must exist before lots can be created. Price justifications — reasons drawn from your reference data — are recorded per lot, so why a price was agreed stays on the record.
Contract articles put items under the agreement: each names the article, its quantity, the price per unit, and its lot, and the total of a lot’s items is capped by the lot’s price. From the moment the contract is active, drawdown is live — every contracted order or sale consumes remaining quantity on the article, so how much of the agreement is left is a stored number, not a spreadsheet reconciliation. Items already on the contract cannot be added twice.
